  • Football: Tackle Football: Gr. 4-5 (2025-2026 Gr. 5-6)

    This football program emphasizes both the fundamentals of tackle football and executing plays. Team rosters, assigned by coaches, will rotate weekly, allowing players to gain diverse game experience. Participants will compete against teams from the surrounding area as part of the Wright Co. Youth Football League, playing four Saturday morning games consisting of two 30-minute running halves. Parents are responsible for transporting their child to and from games. Additionally, players will have the exciting opportunity to play during halftime of a home varsity game (date TBD), with free admission for both players and parents. All necessary football equipment, including mouthguards, will be provided.Players only need to bring tennis shoes or cleats (no metal spikes). Personal football equipment is not permitted. Equipment and locker assignments will be distributed during the Equipment Handout on August 25. Attendance is strongly encouraged to ensure players are properly fitted before the first practice.     The Dassel-Cokato Football Camps are celebrating 22 years of developing athletes. HIT represents the core values of our football program—playing Hard, Intelligently, and as a Team. Led by the varsity coaching staff, these camps are open to players of all skill levels. Our focus is to create a fun and competitive environment while enhancing football skills and preparing athletes for higher levels of play. Many standout Chargers players have honed their abilities through these camps. Participants will receive instruction on fundamental techniques, individual and team play, special teams, and both offensive and defensive strategies. This camp provides an excellent opportunity to build the skills necessary for success on the field. Optional T-shirts are available for an additional fee.     The Dassel-Cokato Football Camps are celebrating 22 years of training young athletes. HIT represents the core values of our football program—playing Hard, Intelligently, and as a Team. Led by the varsity coaching staff and players, these camps are open to athletes of all skill levels. Our focus is on skill development, teamwork, and preparing players for the next level of competition—all while having fun. Many of the Chargers' top players have honed their abilities through these camps. Participants will receive instruction in running, blocking, passing, receiving, tackling, special teams, stances, and position-specific techniques, with advanced skill refinement for older grade levels. Campers will be grouped by age to ensure appropriate training. Optional camp T-shirts are available for an additional fee—register under Activity #0006. T-shirt order deadline: June 27.     2024-25 Gr. 2-7Instructor: Marlee Cates Join us for an exciting day of outdoor fun with kickball, capture the flag, and gaga ball! This class is perfect for kids who love to stay active, laugh, and have fun together. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy the fresh air, make new friends, and have a blast outdoors. Be sure to wear tennis shoes and bring a water bottle. Pick-up and drop-off will be at the PAC Entrance. In the event of inclement weather, we’ll meet at the Rec Center.

  • Golf: Youth Summer Program

    The Youth Summer Golf Program focuses on developing skills through fun activities and age-appropriate instruction, with golf fundamentals and etiquette at the core. The first hour of sessions one through three is dedicated solely to skill instruction, covering the fundamentals of grip, posture, and aim. Participants will rotate through stations at the putting green, tee box, sand trap, and driving range to practice putting, chipping, and full swings. Following instruction, players will have the opportunity to play different holes on the course. During the July sessions, players will spend most of their time on the course, engaging in drills, contests, and exciting challenges designed to reinforce their skills. While the program is open to all skill levels, having a basic understanding of the game is helpful. The goal is to inspire young golfers to develop a passion for the sport while building self-confidence and improving their skills. Students with a Cokato Town and Country Club membership participate at a reduced rate. The program is limited to 40 participants, so register early to secure your spot. Players must provide their own equipment consisting of golf balls, tees and at least a driver, putter and three irons. Wear comfortable clothes, athletic, closed toed shoes, and dress for the weather. Class will NOT be held during inclement weather and will not be made up.

    Having fun while being challenged and receiving detailed instruction, children will be introduced to additional skills and develop a love of gymnastics.     Ages 2-3, by class start date and their parent/guardian Obstacle courses and stations will keep your child busy learning gymnastics skills while burning energy and having fun. Parents MUST be out on the floor with their child/children and actively participate with them. The instructor will demonstrate and offer assistance with the skills and gym circuit while you lead your child through the four apparatuses.     Get ready for the upcoming winter season with our summer gymnastics camp! Led by the Dassel-Cokato Varsity coaches, this camp is designed to help gymnasts refine their existing skills and learn new ones in preparation for competition. Beyond skill development, this is a great opportunity to build strong connections with teammates and coaches. Join us for a summer of growth, teamwork, and fun The Gymnastics Gym set-up is on June 5 at 5:30 pm and tear-down is July 29 at 5:30 pm in the MS Gym. Participation in both set-up and tear-down is required for all registered gymnasts and at least one parent.

    Grades K-6This class teaches beginning tumbling with an emphasis on Floor skills; it also introduces your gymnast to the Vault, Bars, and Beam. This level is for students with little or no previous gymnastics experience but are ready to jump, roll and twist. Gymnasts must master the following skills to progress to Tumblers 2: lunge to handstand, backward roll to feet, bridge, lunge cartwheel, jump to front support & cast.Dassel-Cokato Tumblers gymnastics program is led by long-time gymnastics coach, Paula Wente.     High Tides Competitive Swim Club is a great group of professionally coached athletes that learn valuable lessons in sportsmanship, teamwork, dedication, and personal achievement while having a ton of fun in the pool. Developmental Groups (Approx. ages 12 & under): Swimmers will be guided through the levels of competition they are developmentally ready for, learning about themselves as athletes along the way. Swimmers are grouped by skill level, not necessarily by age. It is recommended to have passed Red Cross Level 4 to participate Age Group (Approx. ages 12 & under): This is our highest level of developmental age group competitive swimming where swimmers are proficient in all four strokes. Workouts consist of approx. 3,000 yards. Swimmers in this level will also be able to swim in Hutchinson with a USA Swimming Membership. A maximum of 5 practices a week are included.     Is your child prepared for the responsibility of staying home alone? This class empowers children with the confidence and skills needed to handle being home alone,whether it's just for an hour or throughout the day during summer breaks. Our comprehensive curriculum includes: age-appropriate guidelines, establishing safe habits and house rules, structuring after-school routines, managing phone calls and unexpected visitors, emergency protocols for pets, personal safety and unexpected situations handling, gun safety awareness, preparing for severe weather and fire emergencies, intruder alertness, and basic first aid techniques. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen. Parents are encouraged to review the take-home information and discuss it with their child.
  • Robotics: Summer Skills Development, Gr. 8-11

    Grades 8-11Instructor: Robotics Mentors Patrick Schuette & Sandy Stertz Families who have opted in for text messaging will receive a text if there are any class updates. To ensure you receive all updates, please opt in for text messaging. CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY: Cancellation requests must be received no later than two full business days prior to the class start date, or by the published registration deadline, in order to receive a refund. (Example: For a class beginning on a Tuesday, the cancellation request must be received by the end of the workday the Thursday of the week prior to be eligible to receive a refund.) The robotics season kicks off in December, but students can sharpen their skills over the summer to prepare for next year’s FIRST Robotics competition. FIRST Robotics blends the thrill of sports with the challenges of science and technology. Within strict rules, limited time, and constrained resources, student teams must fundraise, develop a team brand, refine teamwork skills, and design, build, and program industrial-sized robots to compete in a challenging field game.     2024-25 Grades 1-6Instructor: Marlee Cates Calling all young scientists and slime enthusiasts! Join us for a hands-on slime-making adventure where we'll explore the gooey, stretchy, and satisfying world of slime. Learn how to mix a variety of custom creations with fun colors and textures. It’s sticky, slimy, and tons of fun! Dress for a mess!
  • Softball Pitching Clinic

    The purpose of this clinic is to develop the fundamentals of pitching in the game of fastpitch softball. The instructor, Callie Danielson, is a former collegiate softball player for Gustavus Adolphus College, Pitching Coach at St. Ben’s College from 2019-2022, Certified Tincher Pitching Instructor since 2019 with 12 years as a Pitching Instructor/Clinician under her belt. Danielson is the current head softball coach at Ridgewater College in Willmar. The focus will be on learning the proper mechanics to fastpitch throwing, as well as learning how to build velocity and accuracy. For more advanced pitchers, different grips, techniques, and situations for throwing different pitches will be taught according to skill level. Please provide your own catcher to assist you in going through the different drills.
  • Strength & Conditioning: MS Charge Up Program, Gr. 4-7

    This strength and conditioning program is designed to provide total body conditioning while focusing on exercises specific to athletic development. Enhanced athletic performance will be achieved by improving the student’s range of motion, speed, strength, agility, coordination, and explosive power as well as learning ways to reduce the chance of injury. Athletes will be assessed at the beginning and end of the season so they can see their improvement in the following areas: power, speed, agility, muscular strength, and endurance. Participants will download the TeamBuildr training app to access their workout programs (a tablet will be available for those that do not have a cell phone). Meet in the PAC Lobby each day.
