We operate before and after school, non-school days, and weekdays in the summer. We understand the privilege and importance of providing care for your children. Our caring staff offers a wide variety of programming, like arts and crafts, physical education, outdoor games, and so much more! •🕰️Open: 6:00 am-6:00 pm • School Year Location: Both Dassel and Cokato Elementary Schools • Summer Location: Community Education/Early Childhood Center LITTLE CHARGERS CHILDCARE • Preschool Wraparound Care Little Chargers Childcare offers childcare provides care for enrolled Dassel-Cokato Play and Learn preschool students. Our program is a balanced, high-quality opportunity that provides recreation, social skill development, basic skills reinforcement, and academic enrichment. Our dedicated staff provides a nurturing and fun environment for Little Charger Childcare students. While this program is not an extension of preschool, there are supporting theme-based activities. Plenty of time will be dedicated to child-directed play, including input from the children on activities available. Although children must be enrolled in Play and Learn Preschool to be eligible for care, preschoolers on a waitlist for a full preschool section can participate in full-time Little Chargers Childcare while waiting for a preschool class spot to come available Full-time OR preschool days only care is available. Families seeking full-time care will receive registration priority. Rest time is provided daily. If your child does not nap, we recommend registering for an afternoon preschool class. Students must be fully potty trained. TWO Little Chargers Childcare Locations 🏫 🏫 EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER (Ages 3/4/5) Providing care for preschoolers enrolled in the Play and Learn Preschool Early Childhood Center 3/4 and 3/4/5 class sections. Preschoolers remain at this location for wraparound care The wraparound childcare classroom is a separate space from the preschool room. Indoor and outdoor play spaces. 🕰️Open 7:00 am-5:00 pm 🏫 COKATO ELEMENTARY (Dassel & Cokato Ages 4/5) Children attending preschool at either Dassel or Cokato elementary will receive wraparound care at Cokato Elementary. Dassel preschool students will be transported to/from Cokato Elementary on dedicated transportation at no additional cost. Staff load the students and meet them curbside each direction. Students may ride the PreK-Gr. 12 bus in the morning and depart on school buses in the afternoon. Dassel students may use afternoon LCC transportation back to Dassel Elementary to catch the PreK-Gr.12 bus home or to attend after-school Charger Kids Club at Dassel Elementary. Dassel parents may also choose to drop off/pick up your child at Cokato Elementary. Care is provided in the dedicated Charger Kids Club/Little Chargers Childcare classroom. (Making Changes to a Current Contract: Scroll to "Current and Upcoming Contracts" and select the contract. Find the child you are registering and follow the prompts. (Note: You will complete this process over for each additional child.) Verify your child's information: name, birthdate, grade, and school. Verify emergency contacts and authorized pick-up contacts. Note: Please provide the names and contact information for two emergency contacts in addition to the parent(s). To Designate Emergency contacts: Log into your Arux Childcare account. Navigate to the "Manage Authorized Pickups" section. Indicate contact order by adding #1, #2, #3, etc., in the "Description" or "Notes" area next to their phone number. If the person listed in not an emergency contact, leave the "Description" or "Notes" area blank. This effectively prioritize and organize contacts for emergency situations. Authorized pick-up persons do NOT need their address included.

    At ECFE we understand the importance of the early years in a child’s development. Right from birth you shape your child’s development and set the stage for future learning and growth. This is why we offer a variety of classes that provide information, encouragement, and support for you and your child. All ECFE classes are led by licensed teachers who help children discover and learn through activities and play using art, science, movement, games, and stories. Our teachers create a learning environment where children thrive and parents/caregivers receive information, friendship, and support.
  • Early Childhood Screening

    Ages 3-5. Early Childhood Screening is a FREE and simple check to assist parents in improving the educational readiness and health of young children through the early detection of factors that may impede their learning, growth, and development. Screening is ideally performed as close to age 3 as possible, but is mandated by the State of MN to be completed before kindergarten. Early screening can detect possible health or learning concerns to enable a child to get help before they begin kindergarten. DON’T WAIT!     ✨2025-2026 PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION • OPEN NOW✨REGISTRATION NOTES: • Please select both your 1st and 2nd choice preschool section on your request. If your 1st choice is full, your child will be placed in your selected 2nd choice (if space is available) and added to the waitlist for your 1st choice. • If both sections are full, your child will be added to the waitlists for both classes. If a spot becomes available, we will contact you. • After submitting your request, you will receive an email confirming that your contract is pending staff approval.• Your child will NOT be officially registered for preschool until you receive a second email with class placement details. • Once confirmed, the $25 registration fee will be charged.
