High Tides AGE Group
Youth / Swim Club -
Fall 2025
Instructor: Chad Miller
Developmental Groups (Approx. ages 12 & under): Swimmers will be guided through the levels of competition they are developmentally ready for, learning about themselves as athletes along the way. Swimmers are grouped by skill level, not necessarily by age. It is recommended to have passed Red Cross Level 4 to participate
White Level (Approx. ages 12 & under): Requirement: Able to swim 25's of freestyle and backstroke.
Silver Level (Approx. ages 12 & under): Requirement: Able to complete 50's in all four strokes, and 100 IM. Swimmers in this level will also be able to swim in Hutchinson with a USA Swimming Membership. A maximum of 4 practices a week are included.
Age Group (Approx. ages 12 & under): This is our highest level of developmental age group competitive swimming where swimmers are proficient in all four strokes. Workouts consist of approx. 3,000 yards. Swimmers in this level will also be able to swim in Hutchinson with a USA Swimming Membership. A maximum of 5 practices a week are included.
Senior Groups (Approx. ages 13 & Above):
These groups are considered our competitive program for developed swimmers. These swimmers have a maturity level that enables them to be self motivated and responsible for their swimming success.
Senior (Approx. ages 13 & Above): These athletes are fully committed to swimming and the team as a priority and will show that commitment through being a good example at all times. Swimmers in this level will also be able to swim additional days in Hutchinson with a USA Swimming Membership. A maximum of 5 practices a week are included.
Maintenance (Approx. ages 13 & above): These athletes are staying in shape or preparing for their upcoming high school sports season. A maximum of 3 practices a week are included.
Swim Club Level Placement
Register your child for the level you believe is the best fit. If you're unsure, contact Community Education at 320-286-4120. New swimmers will be evaluated at their first session and may be reassigned if a different level is more appropriate.
All group placements and level changes are determined by the coaching staff. Coaches will communicate with parents when a swimmer is ready to advance. While swim times are considered, placement is based on a combination of skills, technique, conditioning, and readiness. Swimmers must demonstrate specific skills, training performance, and appropriate behavior to move to the next level.
