2027 DC Youth Summer Softball Skills Assessment: 12U • 14U • 16U

Although the 2026 season has come to an end, we're already planning for the 2027 summer softball season!
All players planning to participate in the 2027 summer season are encouraged to attend the Skills Assessment. The assessment helps the DC Softball Association evaluate players for team placement and determine the number of teams needed at each age level.
Team Options
A/B Team:
- Plays weeknight league games
- Competes in approximately 6 tournaments (late May through early August)
- Higher level of competition with more travel and a greater time commitment
- $250 registration fee per player (due this fall by September 15)
- Additional player expenses for tournament dues, gate fees, etc.

C Team:
- Plays weeknight league games
- May participate in a couple tournaments depending on the season standings
- Offers a more local schedule with a lighter time commitment
- Registration and payment will take place later this winter/spring
Both A/B and C teams offer a great opportunity for skill development, team camaraderie, and competitive play at the pace that's right for each player.

Date: Tuesday, August 18
Location: DC High School Quad Softball Fields
Assessment Times
- 12U: 5:30–6:30 pm
- 14U: 6:30–7:30 pm
- 16U: 7:30–8:30 pm
(Pitchers and catchers may stay longer.)

Assessment Registration Information
Skills Assessment registration is required for all players participating in the assessment.
The assessment helps with team placement and season planning. Players who are unable to participate will be placed on a team after spring registration closes.
Assessment Registration Deadline:
Friday, August 14 at 3:00 p.m.
A/B Team Commitment
Players selected for an A/B Team must:
- Accept or decline their roster spot by September 1.
- Submit payment by September 15.
Players not selected for an A/B Team, or those choosing to play at the C level, will complete registration and payment for the 2027 summer season later this winter/spring.
