Gymnastics: Private Lessons: Ages 5-Gr. 8
Gymnastics
These private lessons are for gymnasts of all skill levels. It is for those gymnasts that are just starting on jumps, twists, flips, and rolls to the bends, as well as those participating at the competitive level. With private instruction it will give the gymnast time to truly master the skill(s) of their choice as well as develop better balance, strength, agility, and flexibility. Come Prepared for Class: Gymnasts should wear proper gymnastics attire: leotards or bike shorts with a tucked-in shirt (no strings, zippers, buttons, or attached skirts/tutus). Hair should be tied back, and jewelry must be removed. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Join us as we build strength, confidence, and a love for gymnastics in a fun and supportive environment! Gymnastics: Tumblers 1: Gr. K-6
Gymnastics
Grades K-6This class teaches beginning tumbling with an emphasis on Floor skills; it also introduces your gymnast to the Vault, Bars, and Beam. This level is for students with little or no previous gymnastics experience but are ready to jump, roll and twist. Gymnasts must master the following skills to progress to Tumblers 2: lunge to handstand, backward roll to feet, bridge, lunge cartwheel, jump to front support & cast.Dassel-Cokato Tumblers gymnastics program is led by long-time gymnastics coach, Paula Wente. She is set to inspire the love of gymnastics within your child and help them develop through multiple levels. MS Gym, PAC DoorPlacement Evaluation:If you are new to gymnastics or have not previously taken our DC Tumblers courses and feel you are beyond Level 1 skills contact Community Ed. 320-286-4120 for level placement questions and to schedule an evaluation. Gymnastics: Parent Child: Ages 2-3
Gymnastics
Ages 2-3, by class start date and their parent/guardian Obstacle courses and stations will keep your child busy learning gymnastics skills while burning energy and having fun. Parents MUST be out on the floor with their child/children and actively participate with them. The instructor will demonstrate and offer assistance with the skills and gym circuit while you lead your child through the four apparatuses. Come Prepared for Class: Gymnasts should wear proper gymnastics attire: leotards or bike shorts with a tucked-in shirt (no strings, zippers, buttons, or attached skirts/tutus). Gymnastics: Tumblers 3: Gr. K-6
Gymnastics
This is the next level for those gymnasts who have mastered the basic skill sets required in Levels 1 & 2. This level will continue to strengthen those skills already obtained. In this level added emphasis will be on form. The coach’s placement evaluation is required for this level. Gymnasts must master these skills to advance to Tumblers 4: back extension, run hurdle round-off, handstand forward roll, front handspring, pullover, back hip circle & shooting star/underswing dismount. Level Placement: If your child is new to our Tumblers gymnastics program and believes they have skills beyond Level 1, a placement evaluation is required for Levels 2-4. To schedule an evaluation, contact Community Education at 320-286-4120. Gymnastics: Tumblers 2: Gr. K-6
Gymnastics
This level will continue your gymnast’s training and development of the basic skill sets of tumbling; it will also add more challenges involving all four apparatus, with a continued emphasis on the Floor. The coach’s placement evaluation is required for this level. Gymnasts must master the following skills to progress to Tumblers 3: kick-over, handstand to bridge, run hurdle cartwheel, glide swing, kick-over/pull over & casts push away. Level Placement: If your child is new to our Tumblers gymnastics program and believes they have skills beyond Level 1, a placement evaluation is required for Levels 2-4.
