Code Championship Tournament Series/Virtual Competition
Grades 3-9 Build a computer bot to play head-to-head against other coders! Whether this is your first Code Championship event, or if you've been competing for years, this is the perfect way to explore the competitive coding world of Code Championship. No previous coding experience necessary. The Code Championship Series is a series of four tournaments in four weeks (it's ok to miss one or two). These tournaments will be hosted online using Google Meet and the Code Championship website. If you have a modern browser like Chrome or Firefox, no additional download is required. The link to the Google Meet event will be emailed two days before the tournament. Friday Night Out
Grades 1-6Instructor: Marlee Cates Give your kids an unforgettable Friday night while you enjoy some well-deserved time to yourself! Drop them off for an evening packed with fun—swimming, snacks, and a movie with friends.The night begins with an exciting splash in the pool, followed by a snack to refuel. After swimming, kids will settle in for a kid-friendly movie in a relaxed, fully supervised environment. It’s the perfect balance of active play and wind-down time. Please have your child arrive dressed for swimming and bring a towel. After pool time, they may change into comfortable clothes. Pillows and blankets are welcome for extra coziness during the movie. Parents must check in their child upon arrival. Early drop-offs are not permitted, and pre-registration is required. This session’s movie: Shrek Once upon a time, in a far-away swamp, an ogre named Shrek finds his quiet life turned upside down by a group of fairy-tale characters. Rated PG. Join us in this new multiplayer Minecraft class as we play this hide-and-seek game. Hunters will work together to find the hidden blocks and animals on our new adventure map. Get ideas to create your own mini-games. Tabletop Gaming: Gr. 7-12
Grades 7-12Instructor: Martin Biondo Challenge your friends and peers as you play your favorite table top games as well as learn a variety of new ones all with a chance to compete in competitions. This activity is open to all students in grades 7-12 and every Thursday after school in the High School Art Room. Games available include: Magic: The Gathering, RISK, Space Hulk, Dungeons And Dragons, Chess, Uno, Catan and much more! Students are welcome to bring in their favorite games as well for the group to learn as well as an after school snack and beverage. Participation in competitions is optional but requires a $10 fee before competing, which helps fund prizes. Registration is ongoing throughout the school year, so students can join at any time. Don't miss out on the fun and camaraderie of tabletop gaming!
