Grades K-9 Here is your chance to try out the Youth Rec Hockey program before commiting to the full season or brush up on your skating, stick handling, shooting, and passing skills before the program begins in January. DC Youth Rec Hockey coaches will be on hand to assist skaters on skills and hockey drills. New this year, practices will kick off indoors at the Rec Center in December, providing extra ice time for skill development before the outdoor rink opens. From January through February, players will alternate between outdoor practices at Mooers Park in Cokato and indoor practices at the DC Rec Center, weather permitting. Participants are required to bring their own equipment: skates, helmet with mask, and a stick. A full set of equipment is recommended but not mandatory. Each participant must also purchase a hockey jersey, unless they already have one from a previous year. Specify your jersey size during registration; subsequent jersey purchases will not be necessary. End of the Year Party on Saturday, February 22nd, featuring grade-level scrimmages and an open skate session for families. Scrimmages: Gr. 7-9: 9-10 am Gr. 5-6: 10:15-11:15 am Gr. 3-4: 11:30 am-12:30 pm Gr.
