Some drivers aged 50-plus have never looked back since they got their first driver’s license, but even the most experienced drivers can benefit from refreshing their driving skills. By taking a driver refresher course you’ll learn the current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques and how to operate your vehicle more safely in today’s increasingly challenging driving environment. Some topics that will be covered include: effects of medication on driving, how to reduce driver distractions, maintaining proper following distance, use of safety belts, air bags, anti-lock brakes and new technology, how to handle left turns, right-of-way, and roundabouts as well as age-related changes and how to adjust your driving to compensate. Upon completion of the course, you may be eligible to receive a multi-year auto insurance discount. Consult your agent for details. Class includes video, lectures, and discussion, no driving or written test. Included in the class fee are the AARP materials and a facility/host fee. Baseball: Charger CampBaseball/T-ballInstructor: Head Varsity Baseball Coach Justin McKinleyThe Charger Baseball Camp offers an exciting opportunity for players to elevate their skills and take their game to the next level. Designed to develop all facets of baseball, the camp emphasizes proper fundamentals and techniques while creating a fun and supportive environment for all participants. This year, we’re adding exciting player metrics, including hitting exit velocity, pitching velocity, outfield and infield throwing velocity, catcher pop time/throwing velocity, and running speed, giving athletes a chance to measure their progress just like college and pro players. It’s a great opportunity for players to compete, improve, and see their development through real performance data while having a great time on the field. Players in grades 2 through 4 will focus on essential skills such as throwing, catching, baserunning, hitting, defensive positioning, and establishing a solid batting stance at the plate. Those in grades 5 through 8 will build on these fundamentals while also learning advanced body positioning and footwork to elevate their skills to the next level. Participants should come prepared with their glove, bat, cleats (if available), water bottle, and athletic attire. This camp is a fantastic chance to improve skills, gain confidence, and enjoy time on the field with peers.Summer 2026 -
