We’ll do exercises to help flatten the upper back, un-round shoulders and flatten your midsection. Learn how to reduce the risk of osteoporosis and how to re-gain bone mass. We’ll discuss the latest research findings on nutrition, minerals and trace minerals needed for bone health; foods that help and/or harm your bones and more. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. During this four session class, participants will learn basic hand sewing techniques and use the sewing machine to create a fabric tote bag. All supplies are included in the class cost. Ski & Snowboard Club: Gr. 5-12Ski ClubJoin the D-C Ski and Snowboard Club at Powder Ridge in Kimball this winter. Beginner lessons are available as well and are highly recommended for new skiers and boarders. Bus transportation is provided and participants are required to ride the bus to and from the hill each night. Participants who purchase a rental package will receive FREE rentals for the entire ski season, if they choose to ski other non-Ski Club days (lift tickets would still need to be purchased from Powder Ridge). Those who purchase a lift and/or lift & rental package will also receive a bonus voucher (for up to 4 people) to go skiing on another date towards the end of the ski season with reduced rates. Ski Club handbooks can be view online or picked up in the Community Education office. Also all ski club participants MUST complete the Powder Ridge online waiver prior to attending. LIMITED SPACE: Register early to secure your spot as the program is limited to 116 participants. We cannot guarantee there will be availability to register at the Ski Club Meeting. MANDATORY CLUB MEETING: Thursday, December 11, 6:00 pm in the MS Commons LATE FEE: If room permits, registrations received after December 11 will be charged a $20 late fee. Equipment Rental Info: If renting equipment, please indicate age, weight, height, shoe size and ability level at registration so rental equipment is accurately set for the skier or boarder. Softball: DCSA Girls Competitive Fastpitch LeagueSoftballGirls Grades 1-2Divisions: 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, and High School Whether you're new to the game or a returning player, this league is designed to challenge and inspire athletes of all levels. Join us for a fun, competitive fastpitch experience this summer! Practice Schedule: Practices are typically held twice per week at the HS/MS fields, beginning in mid-May and running through late July. Specific days and times depend on coach and field availability. Coaches may schedule additional practices as needed. Game Schedule: Schedules are set by the Crow River Athletics Fastpitch League and are typically released around mid-May. 8U: 1 game per week (anticipated on Wednesdays) 10U–HS: 2 games per week (anticipated on Mondays and Wednesdays) Games include both home (DCHS/MS) and away sites. Tabletop Gaming: Gr. 7-12Classes/ActivitiesGrades 7-12Instructor: Martin Biondo Challenge your friends and peers as you play your favorite table top games as well as learn a variety of new ones all with a chance to compete in competitions. This activity is open to all students in grades 7-12 and every Thursday after school in the High School Art Room. Games available include: Magic: The Gathering, RISK, Space Hulk, Dungeons And Dragons, Chess, Uno, Catan and much more! Students are welcome to bring in their favorite games as well for the group to learn as well as an after school snack and beverage. Participation in competitions is optional but requires a $10 fee before competing, which helps fund prizes. Registration is ongoing throughout the school year, so students can join at any time.
