Sphero programmable robots help students learn fundamental STEM concepts through play-based learning and educational STEM activities. Students will work individually and collaboratively with Sphero robots to play games, create programs, and complete challenges. No prior experience is required. Participants who have a school Chromebook for after-school use should bring it with them to class each session. Students will meet in Mrs. Stertz’s MS Room #B-17 on the first day and walk together as a group to the high school classroom.

It’s time once again for an annual favorite tour! This tour has it all… one of the best meat markets in the state, the historic Schell’s Brewery, a Pizza Ranch buffet, and a very popular light display… all in one tour… and just in time as we prepare for Christmas celebrations! We’ll begin with casual shopping at Schmidt’s Meat Market in Nicollet. (I really suggest that you bring coolers or insulated bags with your name clearly marked on them.) After you’ve had time to buy those Christmas party treats, we’ll head to Schell’s Brewery in New Ulm for a tour and tasting of their fine products. Not a beer drinker? They also make 1919 root beer. They’ve added a Bier Halle where we’ll relax briefly, shop and visit before we head to the Pizza Ranch for an included late afternoon pizza buffet. (They’re even opening their buffet early just for us.) We’ll end our day with the beautiful Kiwanis Holiday Lights in Mankato. Fee: $79 per person Pick up/Drop Off: Howard Lake 11:00 am - 9:15 pm

Join the D-C Ski and Snowboard Club at Powder Ridge in Kimball this winter. Beginner lessons are available as well and are highly recommended for new skiers and boarders. Bus transportation is provided and participants are required to ride the bus to and from the hill each night. Participants who purchase a rental package will receive FREE rentals for the entire ski season, if they choose to ski other non-Ski Club days (lift tickets would still need to be purchased from Powder Ridge). Those who purchase a lift and/or lift & rental package will also receive a bonus voucher (for up to 4 people) to go skiing on another date towards the end of the ski season with reduced rates. Ski Club handbooks can be view online or picked up in the Community Education office. Also all ski club participants MUST complete the Powder Ridge online waiver prior to attending. LIMITED SPACE: Register early to secure your spot as the program is limited to 116 participants. We cannot guarantee there will be availability to register at the Ski Club Meeting.
