Cars have changed. So have traffic rules, driving conditions and the roads you travel every day. Some drivers aged 50-plus have never looked back since they got their first driver’s license, but even the most experienced drivers can benefit from refreshing their driving skills. By taking a driver refresher course you’ll learn the current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques and how to operate your vehicle more safely in today’s increasingly challenging driving environment. Some topics that will be covered include: effects of medication on driving, how to reduce driver distractions, maintaining proper following distance, use of safety belts, air bags, anti-lock brakes and new technology, how to handle left turns, right-of-way, and roundabouts as well as age-related changes and how to adjust your driving to compensate. Upon completion of the course, you may be eligible to receive a multi-year auto insurance discount. Consult your agent for details. Class includes video, lectures, and discussion, no driving or written test. Included in the class fee are the AARP materials and a facility/host fee. 2025-2026 School Year Grade 4 (Fall 2026 Grade 5) Instructor: MS Band Director Jay Downie Get a jump start on middle school band all before the school year begins. By taking lessons in the summer students will learn the fundamentals of playing a band instrument. Lessons will start at the basics with how to properly assemble their instrument, making a proper sound and become familiar with the first several pages in their method book. Method books are required as part of MS Band and they can be purchased at the beginning of summer lessons from the instructor. If a student did not participate in the band tryout sessions mid-April and are still interested in joining band a tryout session can be scheduled with the instructor before the end of the school year. If a current middle schooler, grade 5-8, has not participated in band previously they could enroll in these lessons in preparation of joining band this upcoming school year. Please Note: If students are using a personal instrument instead of renting from Eckroth Music, please make sure it is in good working order prior to lessons beginning so that your students has the best experience.

Fall 2026-2027 Grades 5 & 6This football program emphasizes both the fundamentals of tackle football and executing plays. Team rosters, assigned by coaches, will rotate weekly, allowing players to gain diverse game experience. Participants will compete against teams from the surrounding area as part of the Wright Co. Youth Football League, playing four Saturday morning games consisting of two 30-minute running halves. Parents are responsible for transporting their child to and from games. All necessary football equipment, including mouthguards, will be provided.Players only need to bring tennis shoes or cleats (no metal spikes). Personal football equipment is not permitted. Ages 10-Adult Instructor: Theresa Hoff Have you ever wanted to decorate sugar cookies like a pro? This class is perfect for beginners—no experience needed! In this two-hour session, you'll learn essential decorating techniques, from basic piping and filling to intricate details that bring your cookies to life. Your class includes six undecorated cookies, three to four icing colors, and any necessary sprinkles or embellishments to complete your set. You'll also have access to decorating tools such as scissors, trays, and tweezers (provided by the instructor), plus a box to take home your beautifully decorated cookies. Fall 2026-2026 Grades 5-6Coordinator: Varsity Head Coach Sydney Mawdsley This traveling volleyball program is designed for girls entering grades 5 and 6 who are looking for a competitive playing experience in the upcoming fall season. The season runs from late August through the first weekend of November, with teams practicing on weeknights. Games will be held at various locations, including Mound-Westonka, Glencoe-Silver Lake, Waconia, Orono, HLWW, NYA, Annandale, Jordan, Lester Prairie, and Hutchinson. Parents are responsible for transporting their child to and from all games and practices. Throughout the season, participants will have the opportunity to develop fundamental volleyball skills, including serving, passing, setting, attacking, and defense, while gaining valuable competitive experience. Practices: Begin in mid-August and will be held one to two nights per week, depending on gym and coach availability. A full practice calendar will be available later in the summer on the Community Education website at www.isd466.org/community-ed.
