  • Aquacise

    Enjoy this healthy and low impact water aerobics class. Each class incorporates cardio and resistance training. It is not necessary to know how to swim to take this class. Participate as a walk-in at a rate of $10 per time or sign up for an entire session. Class will be cancelled if the minimum of 5 participants is not reached.
  • Lap Swim

    Lap swimming allows swimmers to build endurance, improve fitness, and enjoy a low-impact, full-body workout. Participants should be comfortable swimming continuous laps and have basic proficiency in at least the freestyle. Whether you're swimming for exercise, training, or rehabilitation, lap swimming provides an effective way to stay active in the water.   • Level 1 Swim Lessons

    Age 6+ Students need to be at least 6 years old at class completion. Participants will work on: • Open eyes underwater, pick up submerged item • Swim on front & back using arm and leg actions • Glide & float on front & back, recover to vertical position. • Tread water, using arm and hand actions • Back float independently, 5 seconds To successfully complete level 1 student MUST: • Lay comfortably on their back and be able to relax • Put their face in the water and blow bubbles • Put head all the way underwater doing a full bob • Jump off the side of the pool and keep head above water • Jump off diving board • Back float (5 seconds independently)
  • Level 2 Swim Lessons

    Participants will work on: • Rotary breathing • Swim on front & back using combined arm & leg actions, 5 body lengths • Back float, 15 seconds • Front, jellyfish & tuck floats, 10 seconds • Change direction of travel while on front or back
  • Level 2B Swim Lessons

    Participants will work on:: • Tread water, 30 seconds • Back float, 30 seconds • Rotary breathing • Intro to flutter, scissors, breaststroke & dolphin kicks • Change from horizontal to vertical position on front & back • Front & back crawl & elem. backstroke

    Participants will work on: • Dive from kneeling or seated position • Use rotary breathing in horizontal position • Perform front & back crawl & elem. backstroke • Flutter, scissors, breaststroke & dolphin kicks • Tread water, 1 minute • Floats: Back, 1 minute; Survival, 30 seconds
  • Level 4 Swim Lessons

    Participants will work on: • Head first entry in compact and stride positions • Perform front and back crawl, sidestroke • Perform open turns on front & back • Swim underwater, 3-5 body lengths • Swim breaststroke, butterfly & elem. backstroke • Flutter & dolphin kicks on back • Survival swim, 1 minute • Perform feet-first surface dive • Tread water using 2 different kicks
  • Level A Swim Lessons

    Ages 4-5 In this level your child is introduced to basic skills that will lay the foundation for future skill development of swim strokes. Participants will work on: • Enter & exit water on own & swim 5 yds • Submerge mouth and blow bubbles for 3 sec. • Glide on front for at least 2 body lengths • Roll to back and float for 3 seconds • Roll from front to back and back to front To successfully complete Level A student MUST: • Lay comfortably on their back and be able to relax • Put their face in the water and blow bubbles
  • Level B Swim Lessons

    Ages 4-5 This class builds on and improves skills learned in Level A. This course is for those students who are not afraid in the water and have had swim lessons on their own before. Participants will work on: • Step into shoulder-deep water with aid • Bobbing • Front float, 3 sec.; back float, 15 sec. with aid • Recover from front & back float or glide to a vertical position • Tread water with aid, 15 seconds To successfully complete Level B student MUST: • Lay comfortably on their back and be able to relax • Put their face in the water and blow bubbles • Put head all the way underwater doing a full bob
  • Level C Swim Lessons

    Age 4-5 This class increases proficiency and builds on the basic skills learned in Level A & B. This course is for those students who are not afraid in the water and have had swim lessons on their own before. Participants will work on:: • Jump into shoulder-deep water with aid • Tread water with aid, 30 seconds • Change direction of travel while on front or back • Front, jellyfish & tuck floats, & recover to vertical position. • Swim on front for 5 body lengths, roll to back, float 15 sec., roll to front, swim for 5 body lengths. To successfully complete Level C student MUST: • Lay comfortably on their back and be able to relax • Put their face in the water and blow bubbles • Put head all the way underwater doing a full bob • Jump off the side of the pool and keep head above water
  • Parent Child Swim Lessons

    This class will familiarize your child with the water and teach them swimming readiness skills, as well as an introduction to water safety. A swim diaper must be worn for children who are not trained. Parents MUST accompany children in the water. Participants Ages 6 months-4 years learn to: • Feel comfortable & play safely in the water • Blow bubbles & submerge face • Explore floating & gliding on the back & front • Perform combined stroke on front/back with aid
  • Water Safety Instructor (WSI)

    The Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Class (WSI) will certify you to teach all levels of Red Cross Swimming lessons to children, adults and individuals with special needs. This 30-hour course will consist of both pool and classroom time. Through video and hands-on skill building, in and out of the water, the Water Safety Instructor course is designed to train instructors to use a variety of teaching strategies, including: class management techniques, lesson planning and execution, observation and assessment, and new tools to be a great instructor. Coursework must be downloaded and viewable on a technology device, brought to class. Additional coursework completed outside of the scheduled sessions will also be required. Participants must be 15 years of age by the final day of the course. A preliminary swimming skills pretest is also required. Please bring a suit, goggles and towel. Minimum 6 students required.Swim Skills Pretest Includes: 25 yards each of: Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle, Elementary Backstroke and Sidestroke 15 yards of Butterfly 1 min. tread water AND 1 min. back floatCourse Dates & Times: PLEASE NOTE- THESE DATES MAY BE CHANGING. VIRTUAL DAY: FRIDAY, April 18 from 8:00 am-1:00 pm virtual and 1-5 pm on your own (Done virtually via a Google classroom) Remainder of day (1 until 5 pm will be done on student's own time or those hours will be completed prior to next session date.)
