Art Studio
Students will build their artistic confidence and ability all while learning to enjoy the process of creating art. Students will create projects and learn to use art supplies and tools within a variety of mediums such as painting, clay modeling, sculpture, leathercraft, decoupage, and more! Each session is unique and will allow these young artists an opportunity to experiment with a new art medium each time. Bring along a snack/water bottle to class. -
Band Lessons for Beginners
2024-2025 School Year Grade 4 (Fall 2025 Grade 5)Instructor: MS Band Director Jay Downie Get a jump start on middle school band all before the school year begins. By taking lessons in the summer students will learn the fundamentals of playing a band instrument. Lessons will start at the basics with how to properly assemble their instrument, making a proper sound and become familiar with the first several pages in their method book. Method books are required as part of MS Band and they can be purchased at the beginning of summer lessons from the instructor. If a student did not participate in the band tryout sessions mid-April and are still interested in joining band a tryout session can be scheduled with the instructor before the end of the school year. If a current middle schooler, grade 5-8, has not participated in band previously they could enroll in these lessons in preparation of joining band this upcoming school year. If students are using a personal instrument instead of renting from Eckroth Music, please make sure it is in good working order prior to lessons beginning. -
Baseball: Charger Camp
The Charger Baseball Camp offers an exciting opportunity for players to elevate their skills and take their game to the next level. Designed to develop all facets of baseball, the camp emphasizes proper fundamentals and techniques while creating a fun and supportive environment for all participants. Players in grades 2 through 4 will focus on essential skills such as throwing, catching, baserunning, hitting, defensive positioning, and establishing a solid batting stance at the plate. Those in grades 5 through 8 will build on these fundamentals while also learning advanced strategies, including 1st and 3rd base defense, cutoff plays, and bunt defense. Participants should come prepared with their glove, bat, cleats (if available), water bottle, and athletic attire. This camp is a fantastic chance to improve skills, gain confidence, and enjoy time on the field with peers. -
Basketball Boys Summer Club, Gr. 7-11
Instructor: Varsity Basketball Coaches This program will focus on skill development, team strategies, and scrimmages in a fast-paced, competitive environment. It will be physically challenging and serves as an excellent complement to the D-C Strength and Conditioning program. Keep Chargin’! -
Basketball Gym Sessions: Gr. 1-2
Join Coach Goudy this summer for open basketball sessions where you'll have fun while honing your skills! These sessions will focus on developing your basketball abilities, including 3-on-3 skills, and feature 3-on-3 games to help you prepare for next winter’s 3-on-3 league. Sign up for the full summer session and attend as many dates as you like. Please note that pre-registration is required to participate, and there is a class size limit. If you have a youth-sized basketball, please bring it along! -

COR Robotics: Drone Racing, Gr. 2-8
In this exciting course, students will learn how to fly like the pros in the Drone Racing League by first training on a flight simulator. Once they've mastered the basics of drone piloting, they'll move on to assembling the drones. Along the way, students will gain crucial knowledge about drone safety, maintenance, and operation.Upon building completion, they’ll take to the skies to compete in a series of races and challenges. Guided by experienced instructors, participants will leave with both the skills and confidence to fly a drone and maintain them effectively. The drones used are equipped with cameras and are ideal for beginners. Students also have the option to bring home their UFO 4000 drone for an additional fee. Remember to bring a snack and a bottle of water each day! -

Charger T-Ball, Ages 4-5
Introduce your child to the exciting world of baseball and softball in our Charger T-Ball Program! Designed for preschoolers ages 4-5 (not yet in kindergarten), this program emphasizes fun, fitness, and fundamentals in a positive and engaging environment. Each session begins with warm-ups, followed by a mix of skill-building stations and game play. Players will learn essential skills such as catching, throwing, fielding, base running, and batting off a tee, all while building confidence and teamwork. Participants must bring their own glove and wear athletic apparel, t-ball shirt, and tennis shoes. Come join the fun and give your child a great first experience with T-ball! We are also looking for parent volunteers to help coach—no experience necessary, just a willingness to encourage and support our young players! -
Cheer Team: Summer Program
2024-2025 School Year Gr. 6-11 Instructor: DC Cheer Coaches, Stephine Paech & Lexi Wuetrich The D-C Cheer Team is a sideline and competitive cheerleading program that runs from June through early February. During the fall season, cheerleaders energize the crowd on the sidelines at football games, while in the winter, they compete against other teams across the state. This summer program is a vital part of the full cheer season, focusing on learning cheers, dances, and team-building while improving skills and conditioning for the months ahead. Summer participation is highly encouraged, but separate registration for the fall and winter seasons (September-February) takes place in late-July and October through the Activities Department. In addition to regular summer practices at Dassel-Cokato, cheerleaders are required to attend a Home Cheer Camp led by a Varsity clinician at an additional cost. Additional details will be announced at the Mandatory Parent & Cheerleader Info Night on June 9, where families can also learn about the D-C Cheerleading Booster Club and fundraising opportunities to help offset costs. Beyond practice, the D-C Cheer Team will showcase their spirit at local summer parades, bringing energy and enthusiasm to the community. Specific details on parade locations and staging times will be shared before each event. Child & Babysitting Safety Program
The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from the American Safety and Health Institute offers comprehensive training to ensure safe and successful babysitting. It covers everything from starting a babysitting business to essential safety, caregiving, and first aid practices. Upon completing the course and meeting the core learning objectives, students receive a certification valid for two years, and instructions to access a digital copy of the Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) Student book. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen. -
Cookies, Candy, and Art...Oh My!

Creative Canvas, Gr. 2-8
Unleash your creativity in this fun and engaging painting class. Over the course of two sessions, artists will explore basic acrylic painting techniques, including blending, layering, and adding texture to bring their masterpieces to life. With step-by-step guidance from Annette, participants will work on a themed painting, building their skills and confidence along the way. All materials are provided—just bring your imagination and a willingness to create! No prior experience is needed, just a love for art and a desire to learn. Join us for two fun-filled sessions and take home a beautiful acrylic painting to showcase your artistic talents! -
Cross Country Camp, Gr. 4-5
Participants will dive into the exciting and challenging sport of Cross Country. Each session will cover essential running techniques and various training methods designed to enhance their skills. Athletes will engage in different types of training, including easy/base runs, intervals, tempo/threshold workouts, and sprinting. The camp will conclude with a Mini-Meet, where participants can showcase their progress. As part of the registration fee, each participant will receive a t-shirt—please select a size when signing up. Participants should come prepared with running shoes, appropriate workout attire, and a water bottle. -
DC Youth Summer Baseball, Boys & Girls Gr. K
Step up to the plate in our youth baseball program, open to boys and girls just finishing kindergarten. This program is designed to introduce young players to the fundamentals of baseball in a fun and supportive environment, with a focus on skill development, teamwork, and game play. Teams will practice on Sundays and play games on Wednesdays in an in-house league consisting of Grades K and 1, giving players the opportunity to build confidence and improve their skills throughout the season. Coaches will pitch live to batters, helping players develop their hitting technique while continuing to learn catching, throwing, fielding, and base running. Players must provide their own glove and wear athletic apparel and tennis shoes or cleats. The course fee includes a team jersey and hat. The first session will meet at the high school quad field pavilion. Join us for an exciting season of baseball and help your child grow their love for the game! We are also looking for parent volunteers to help coach. The coordinator will provide instruction during practices while coaches will lead on game nights. -

Football: St. John's University Football Camp, Gr. 8-11
DC football players have the opportunity to attend a team camp at Saint John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota on Thursday, July 24 and Friday, July 25. The camp is hosted by Saint John’s University and some SJU coaches will be providing instruction. In addition, many of our DC football coaches will be there to supervise and give instruction on DC specific schemes and techniques. During this camp we may also do a 7 on 7 practice with another local school. Players will be required to ride district provided school bus transportation to and from Saint John’s University. The camp cost includes lunch and supper on Thursday as well as all three meals on Friday. Players will be padded during these practices and there will be contact. Players must abide by all SJU Campus rules and expectations set forth at camp. If they do not, they will be sent home, and parents will need to come and pick them up. In Coach Weinandt's 21 years of coaching at DC our players have always been well behaved and that expectation is that will continue at this camp. The cost for the camp is $125 and checks should be made out to Saint John’s University and will be turned in when we arrive at camp. It is best to turn in payment in advance to Community Education or Coach Weinandt.
