  • Charger T-Ball, Ages 4-5

    Introduce your child to the exciting world of baseball and softball with Charger T-Ball! This program is designed for preschool-aged children (ages 4–5) and focuses on fun, fitness, and fundamental skill development in a positive and engaging environment. Each session begins with warm-ups, followed by a combination of skill-building stations and game play. Players will learn the basics of catching, throwing, fielding, base running, and batting off a tee, while also building confidence, teamwork, and a love for the game. Participants should bring: A baseball glove, wear athletic apparel and t-ball shirt, and tennis shoes. We are also seeking parent volunteer coaches to help make this program successful. No prior baseball or softball experience is required—just a willingness to encourage and support young players! Additional instruction and guidance will be provided by the program coordinator.     The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from the American Safety and Health Institute offers comprehensive training to ensure safe and successful babysitting. It covers everything from starting a babysitting business to essential safety, caregiving, and first aid practices. Upon completing the course and meeting the core learning objectives, students receive a certification valid for two years, and instructions to access a digital copy of the Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) Student book. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen.

  • Code Championship Tournament Series/Virtual Competition

    Grades 3-9 Build a computer bot to play head-to-head against other coders! Whether this is your first Code Championship event, or if you've been competing for years, this is the perfect way to explore the competitive coding world of Code Championship. No previous coding experience necessary. The Code Championship Series is a series of four tournaments in four weeks (it's ok to miss one or two). These tournaments will be hosted online using Google Meet and the Code Championship website. If you have a modern browser like Chrome or Firefox, no additional download is required. The link to the Google Meet event will be emailed two days before the tournament.   • DC Youth 7 on 7 Football League

    This spring, students in Grades 3–6 are invited to participate in the DC Youth Football 7-on-7 League. This one-hand touch football program focuses on developing football-specific skills and applying those skills in game situations. Participants will practice together during the week and then be divided into teams for weekend play. DC teams will scrimmage against one another on April 18, followed by two scheduled games against Rockford. DC will host Rockford on April 25 and then travel to Rockford on May 2. Teams will be organized by grade level, with divisions for Grades 3–4 and Grades 5–6.Equipment: Participants should wear rubber cleats, mouth guard and layers appropriate for the weather. Please bring tennis shoes with each session in the event practice is moved indoors. A team shirt will be provided for game days. Soft helmets are required and will be provided.   • DC Youth Summer Baseball, Boys & Girls Gr. K-1

    Step up to the plate in DC Youth Summer Baseball! This program is open to boys and girls who have just completed kindergarten or first grade and is designed to introduce young players to the fundamentals of baseball in a fun, supportive, and instructional environment. Emphasis is placed on skill development, teamwork, and game play while helping players build confidence and a love for the game. Teams will practice on Sundays and play games on Wednesdays in an in-house league, allowing players to continue developing their skills throughout the season. Coaches will pitch live to batters, helping players improve their hitting technique while continuing to learn catching, throwing, fielding, and base running.     Is your child prepared for the responsibility of staying home alone? This class empowers children with the confidence and skills needed to handle being home alone,whether it's just for an hour or throughout the day during summer breaks. Our comprehensive curriculum includes: age-appropriate guidelines, establishing safe habits and house rules, structuring after-school routines, managing phone calls and unexpected visitors, emergency protocols for pets, personal safety and unexpected situations handling, gun safety awareness, preparing for severe weather and fire emergencies, intruder alertness, and basic first aid techniques. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen. Parents are encouraged to review the take-home information and discuss it with their child.

    Join us in this new multiplayer Minecraft class as we play this hide-and-seek game. Hunters will work together to find the hidden blocks and animals on our new adventure map. Get ideas to create your own mini-games. We need this time to provide the best camp experience for all our students. Our virtual camps feature engaging interactive instruction in a collaborative learning environment. For each session, students will also be given access to our online classroom, which will feature recordings of the lessons and a curriculum guide with all the steps covered in class, along with instructions for project extensions. To protect students’ privacy, we do not share videos of the actual classes, but we will have follow-along recordings reviewing the instructions and activities done in class.
