Football: St. John's University Football Camp, Gr. 8-11
Grades 8-11DC football players have the opportunity to attend a team camp at Saint John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota on Monday, July 27 and Tuesday, July 28. The camp is hosted by Saint John’s University and some SJU coaches will be providing instruction. In addition, many of our DC football coaches will be there to supervise and give instruction on DC specific schemes and techniques. During this camp we may also do a 7 on 7 practice with another local school. Players will be required to ride district provided school bus transportation to and from Saint John’s University. The camp cost includes lunch and supper on Monday as well as all three meals on Tuesday. Players will be padded during these practices and there will be contact. Players must abide by all SJU Campus rules and expectations set forth at camp. If they do not, they will be sent home, and parents will need to come and pick them up. In Coach Weinandt's 22 years of coaching at DC our players have always been well behaved and that expectation is that will continue at this camp. The cost for the camp is $130 and checks should be made out to Saint John’s University and will be turned in when we arrive at camp. It is best to turn in payment in advance to Community Education or Coach Weinandt. Football: Tackle Football: Gr. 5-6 (2026-2027)
Fall 2026-2027 Grades 5 & 6This football program emphasizes both the fundamentals of tackle football and executing plays. Team rosters, assigned by coaches, will rotate weekly, allowing players to gain diverse game experience. Participants will compete against teams from the surrounding area as part of the Wright Co. Youth Football League, playing four Saturday morning games consisting of two 30-minute running halves. Parents are responsible for transporting their child to and from games. All necessary football equipment, including mouthguards, will be provided.Players only need to bring tennis shoes or cleats (no metal spikes). Personal football equipment is not permitted. Equipment and locker assignments will be distributed during the Equipment Handout on August 31. Attendance is strongly encouraged to ensure players are properly fitted before the first practice. Throughout the season, all football gear will remain in the Middle School locker room. Grades 8-11Instructors: HS Varsity Coaches The Dassel-Cokato Football Camps are celebrating 23 years of developing athletes. HIT represents the core values of our football program—playing Hard, Intelligently, and as a Team. Led by the varsity coaching staff, these camps are open to players of all skill levels. Our focus is to create a fun and competitive environment while enhancing football skills and preparing athletes for higher levels of play. Many standout Chargers players have honed their abilities through these camps. Participants will receive instruction on fundamental techniques, individual and team play, special teams, and both offensive and defensive strategies. This camp provides an excellent opportunity to build the skills necessary for success on the field. Optional T-shirts are available for an additional fee. Football: Youth HIT Camp, Gr. K-7
Grades K-7 Instructors: HS Varsity Coaches and Players The Dassel-Cokato Football Camps are in their 23rd year of existence. HIT is an acronym for the attitude in our football program. Our athletes play Hard-Intelligently-and as a Team. These camps are coached by the varsity staff and players and are for all levels of players. The camp goals are to have fun, improve football skills and prepare athletes for the next level of competition. The majority of the players that have excelled on the field for the Chargers have participated in these camps. Participants will receive instruction in running, blocking, passing, receiving, tackling, special teams, stances, and position-specific techniques, with advanced skill refinement for older grade levels. Campers will be grouped by age to ensure appropriate training. Optional camp T-shirts are available for an additional fee—register separately under Activity #0006. T-shirt order deadline: June 25.
