  • Art Studio

    Students will build their artistic confidence and ability all while learning to enjoy the process of creating art. Students will create projects and learn to use art supplies and tools within a variety of mediums such as painting, clay modeling, sculpture, leathercraft, decoupage, and more! Each session is unique and will allow these young artists an opportunity to experiment with a new art medium each time. Bring along a snack/water bottle to class.
  • Band Lessons for Beginners

    2024-2025 School Year Grade 4 (Fall 2025 Grade 5)Instructor: MS Band Director Jay Downie Get a jump start on middle school band all before the school year begins. By taking lessons in the summer students will learn the fundamentals of playing a band instrument. Lessons will start at the basics with how to properly assemble their instrument, making a proper sound and become familiar with the first several pages in their method book. Method books are required as part of MS Band and they can be purchased at the beginning of summer lessons from the instructor. If a student did not participate in the band tryout sessions mid-April and are still interested in joining band a tryout session can be scheduled with the instructor before the end of the school year. If a current middle schooler, grade 5-8, has not participated in band previously they could enroll in these lessons in preparation of joining band this upcoming school year. If students are using a personal instrument instead of renting from Eckroth Music, please make sure it is in good working order prior to lessons beginning.
  • COR Robotics: Drone Racing, Gr. 2-8

    In this exciting course, students will learn how to fly like the pros in the Drone Racing League by first training on a flight simulator. Once they've mastered the basics of drone piloting, they'll move on to assembling the drones. Along the way, students will gain crucial knowledge about drone safety, maintenance, and operation.Upon building completion, they’ll take to the skies to compete in a series of races and challenges. Guided by experienced instructors, participants will leave with both the skills and confidence to fly a drone and maintain them effectively. The drones used are equipped with cameras and are ideal for beginners. Students also have the option to bring home their UFO 4000 drone for an additional fee. Remember to bring a snack and a bottle of water each day!

  • Child & Babysitting Safety Program

    The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from the American Safety and Health Institute offers comprehensive training to ensure safe and successful babysitting. It covers everything from starting a babysitting business to essential safety, caregiving, and first aid practices. Upon completing the course and meeting the core learning objectives, students receive a certification valid for two years, and instructions to access a digital copy of the Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) Student book. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen.

With step-by-step guidance from Annette, participants will work on a themed painting, building their skills and confidence along the way. All materials are provided—just bring your imagination and a willingness to create! No prior experience is needed, just a love for art and a desire to learn.     Ages Bith-5 with an adult(Siblings are invited to attend but activities are geared for ages 5 and under)Instructor: Early Childhood Family Education Staff Come hang out at the park for a fun session filled with activities and a chance to connect with other families.     Grades 1-6Instructor: Marlee CatesGive your kids an unforgettable Friday night while you enjoy some well-deserved time to yourself! Drop them off for an evening packed with fun—swimming, snacks, and a movie with friends. The night begins with an exciting splash in the pool, followed by a tasty snack to recharge. Afterward, kids will settle in for a kid-friendly movie in a relaxed and supervised environment. It’s the perfect mix of active play and wind-down time. Please have your child arrive dressed for swimming and bring a towel. After pool time, they can change into comfortable clothes. Feel free to send a pillow and blanket for extra coziness during the movie. Parents must check in their child upon arrival. Early drop-offs are not allowed, and pre-registration is required for participation. This session’s movie is Rio, the story of Blu, a domesticated macaw from Minnesota who embarks on a thrilling adventure to Rio de Janeiro with the spirited Jewel. Rated G.     Is your child prepared for the responsibility of staying home alone? This class empowers children with the confidence and skills needed to handle being home alone,whether it's just for an hour or throughout the day during summer breaks. Our comprehensive curriculum includes: age-appropriate guidelines, establishing safe habits and house rules, structuring after-school routines, managing phone calls and unexpected visitors, emergency protocols for pets, personal safety and unexpected situations handling, gun safety awareness, preparing for severe weather and fire emergencies, intruder alertness, and basic first aid techniques. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen. Parents are encouraged to review the take-home information and discuss it with their child.

  • Robotics: Summer Skills Development, Gr. 8-11

    Grades 8-11Instructor: Robotics Mentors Patrick Schuette & Sandy Stertz Families who have opted in for text messaging will receive a text if there are any class updates. CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY: Cancellation requests must be received no later than two full business days prior to the class start date, or by the published registration deadline, in order to receive a refund. (Example: For a class beginning on a Tuesday, the cancellation request must be received by the end of the workday the Thursday of the week prior to be eligible to receive a refund.) The robotics season kicks off in December, but students can sharpen their skills over the summer to prepare for next year’s FIRST Robotics competition. FIRST Robotics blends the thrill of sports with the challenges of science and technology. Within strict rules, limited time, and constrained resources, student teams must fundraise, develop a team brand, refine teamwork skills, and design, build, and program industrial-sized robots to compete in a challenging field game.   • Tabletop Gaming: Gr. 7-12

    Join us for an exciting opportunity to challenge your friends and discover new tabletop games! This activity is open to all students in grades 7-12 and meets every other Thursday after school in the High School Art Room. Games available include favorites like Magic: The Gathering, RISK, Space Hulk, Dungeons And Dragons, Chess, Uno, Catan, and more. Students are encouraged to bring their own games to share with the group. Bring an after school snack and beverage if you wish. Participation in competitions is optional but requires a $10 fee before competing, which helps fund prizes. Registration is ongoing throughout the school year, so students can join at any time. Don't miss out on the fun and camaraderie of tabletop gaming!

Participants will dive into thrilling water-based games, including relay races, water balloon battles, and team challenges guaranteed to keep everyone cool and laughing. Whether you're dodging splashes or soaking up the sun, this is the perfect way to enjoy the great outdoors and unleash your inner water warrior! Pick-up and drop-off will be at the PAC Entrance, and in case of inclement weather this event will be canceled.
  • Youth Theatre Camp (YTC)

    Join us for a week-long theatre camp where young performers will immerse themselves in the exciting world of acting, guided by the talented FungusAmungus Players! This interactive workshop is designed to help students build confidence, enhance creativity, and develop essential theatre skills in a fun and supportive environment. Through engaging games and hands-on activities, campers will explore stage movement, blocking notation, and script scoring, while also diving into character development, scene creation, dialogue delivery, body language, and storytelling techniques. Led by experienced actors, participants will gain valuable insight into the art of performance, learning to bring stories to life. Rehearsals will take place Monday through Thursday at the Dassel History Center, preparing students for their final dress rehearsal on Friday at the Performing Arts Center. That evening, campers will take the stage for a FREE showcase performance, celebrating their hard work with family, friends, and fellow theatre enthusiasts. The registration fee includes a camp t-shirt. Sign up by July 17 to guarantee your shirt!
